The Floating Voices eco fitted barge is currently being designed and built in collaboration with Naval Architect Rob from Prolines Naval Architecture based locally in Co. Waterford. Stretching 18 meters, this eco-friendly vessel is being fitted to achieve zero carbon emissions. Edel is working closely with Rob to integrate electric engines, solar panels, wind turbines, a roof garden containing native wetland wildflowers and compostable toilets, making the barge a fully sustainable project. It’s an exciting, all-eco venture that’s up for grabs!

In early October, Edel will be presenting the Floating Voices eco-educational barge to some of Waterford’s leading innovators aboard the Osprey Viking Boat. The goal of this meeting is to attract sponsorship and investment to support the barge programme in the coming months.
