ART FOR ALL AGES

Street Art Ink kindly received funding from Community Foundation Ireland for its intergenerational arts programme which is being launched in 2023. This arts programme invites participants from the older and younger groups to work together through workshops and painting a piece of street art together with an artist. All the stories from the project will be captured and collated in to our docuseries-Floating Voices which also launches in 2023. Watch here and on our socials for all updates.

BUILDING BRIDGES WITH ART

In June 2022, Street Art Ink were successful in getting the curation and project management for the delivery of a large piece of street art on Childers Bridge in Limerick City. Edel advised that this be a collaborative artwork between the two artists James Kirwan and Lost Optics. The two fab mentee artists mentored by James and Daniel-Cormac Dillon and Adela Passas, both local students in LSAD. And finally, the local community had input into the concept and development of the artwork through public consultation meetings. This was a labour of love and a huge achievement by all involved due to some of the worst weather conditions but what an result of an artwork!

MAKE A TRIP TO TIPP TO SEE THE STREET ART

In 2022, Edel and the Street Art Ink team were commissioned by Tipperary CoCo to deliver and curate 3 large scale pieces of street art. The artists selected to paint these pieces were James Kirwan, ADW and Danleo. However, once the first artwork was installed in July, it created such a buzz of positivity in the town that Sharon contacted Edel to commission another 2 pieces which were painted by Juliette Viode. We are delighted to say that there are more artists on the way to Tipp in 2023. Watch here and on our socials for more details.
